One country – Earth One flag – Peace One language – Love One race – Human Race
The beauty of the world is in its diversity, but diversity oftentimes
puts up barriers of ignorance. Our mission is to preserve diversity while
tearing down these barriers. Our belief is centered on emphasizing our
similarities through peace, love, and humanity, while still embracing our
differences, as this concept is what makes the unified flag of humanity so
colorful.
"We are not philosophers, social scientists, or experts in international
law. We are two young college students from Iran who are deeply saddened by
the impact of eight years of war between Iraq and our country. We have
observed the senseless devastation, destruction, and loss of lives brought
upon many nations on the face of the Earth. On the other hand, we have
learned about glorious victories in several countries towards liberation and
democracy without resorting to war and violence—South Africa, the former
Soviet Union, and India, to name a few."
Every human has a basic desire to explore the unknown. Every once in a
while, this desire flourishes into craving to touch the lives of people all
over the world and bring them a message of peace and unity. Our Pedal4Peace
cyclists are messengers – messengers that are bearing the torch of peace and
unity throughout the world. We believe we are more alike than we are
different, and that this should be our focus when we interact with one
another. Our goal is to take this message to every continent during our
five-year tour on nothing but our bicycles and the goodness of people
throughout the world. Our mission began on September of 2000 in Tehran, Iran
with ten years of cycling experience under our belts. Our previous tours
took us to locations within Iran, the rest of the Middle East, and various
European countries. The purpose of our current tour is to carry a message of
friendship as the unofficial bicycle ambassadors of Iranian people all over
the world.
